Two new residences on St. F.X. Campus – Antigonish
St. Francis Xavier University has again added to its status as one of the top Canadian undergraduate universities by completing two new student residence buildings on campus, O’Regan Hall and Riley Hall, each capable of housing nearly 160 students. The buildings have a green design component and are aiming for LEED Gold design with many energy saving features. The two buildings consume less than 200KW of power demand and are equipped with a ground source heating and cooling system with approximately 20 deep wells provided. The building also has a majority of energy efficient lighting fixtures in residence rooms, each consuming as little as 10W per fixture. Wireless internet access is provided throughout both buildings. A movie theatre, large group meeting lounge, exercise room, laundry and kitchenettes are all part of building amenities that have made the new buildings the place to live on campus.
