Senior Mechanical Engineer

Neil came on board with A.H. Roy in January 2023 as an experienced senior mechanical engineer. He has been involved in a wide variety of multi-discipline engineering projects for over 23 years as a professional consultant.

Project types range from coal-fired power plant equipment retrofits; industrial equipment retrofits — piping, pumps, heating, ventilation; design of pressure vessels and pressure piping systems (steam, air, oil); detailed design of large and small commercial HVAC design — heating, cooling and ventilation; institutional building condition assessments — arenas and nursing homes; commercial/industrial boiler and ancillary equipment retrofits. Much of this work involved other engineering disciplines, site work, bid evaluations, contract review/preparation, specifications, reporting, extensive travel all over
Atlantic Canada and close coordination with clients.

In the past 12 years, Neil has migrated to energy efficiency projects — energy auditing for Efficiency NS;
energy audits of institutional and commercial buildings; project managing (tender preparation, tendering,
bid evaluation, award, contractor coordination) a 25 kW Solar PV system for the County of Antigonish;
biomass heating system scoping reports for over 30 sites in Nova Scotia — larger hospitals, nursing homes,
NSCC campuses and other large institutional oil users.
