Retrofit for a new CBVRSB school bus maintenance garage - Sydney

Project Details cbvrsbsmall
  • Location: Sydney, NS
  • Total Budget: $3.2M
  • Industry: Education
  • Project Status: Complete

The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board purchased the existing TP-2 building on the Tar Ponds site and renovated it from a washbay building to the central school bus maintenance facility. A.H. Roy & Associates were responsible for maintaining as much of the existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure as possible within the confines of architectural changes designed by Trifos Design Consultants, the architectural firm commissioned to transform the building.

The building had many of the systems required for the new garage but had to be retrofitted to provide services necessary for bus maintenance, equipment such as hoists, seven bus lifts, additional overhead doors, compressed air, lubricant systems, vehicle exhaust systems and building controls. The project, completed on time and within budget, will provide a great facility for maintaining the school bus fleet of CBVRSB for years to come.
